In addition to paying for the feasibility study, funds will be needed for construction.
The project has partnered with the Schuylkill River Greenways National Heritage Area (SRGNHA) as the administrator of funds for the project and a budget is being developed, but you can get in on the support early. SRGNHA is the regional advocate for the Schuylkill River Trail and has a high level goal of connecting communities.
“The Schuylkill River Greenways has been a proud supporter and partner in this project since it was conceptualized,” says SRGNHA Executive Director Elaine Schaefer. “It is a great example of incorporating the river and trail into the future of development in this region. The Trestle project serves as a great illustration of the benefit of working with a community to go beyond simply building bricks and mortar, but to help create a destination that elevates that community and brings positive health and economic benefits to the whole region.”
